Blogging 201: Branding, Growth, and Traffic
Assignment #1: Consider what you want to accomplish with your blog. Write down three concrete goals you want to achieve.
My vision for my blog is to provide content worth reading, educative and inspiring; for people who have fallen down so many times that getting up is scary, for fear of failing again; to document my process as a start-up and building my brand process; to engage with like-minded people who will also inspire me but most importantly a website where future clients can be referred to. I have 66 followers now. My Big Audacious Vision for my blog is to have 500 followers by December 2014!
So why do I blog?
I have been blogging for almost 3 years now. Through blogging, I could share content I came across the web that I found funny or educative but over time, I have lacked the discipline to be consistent! As I wrote in my last blog post- The road to success starts with one baby step, I have just started my own business and I need to have a game plan and I also believe that writing more will improve my writing skills and my goals to be a thought leader in this field I have chosen.
Here I go! My first baby steps! My Big Hairy Audacious Blogging Goals for 2014
1. Start a new feature, myChallenge on living healthy and maintaining a healthy weight, in May (I have gained a lot of weight and it’s beginning to affect my health) and publish 4 days a week to be able to have 100 regular engaging followers by the end of the year.
2. Be part of a community where I can participate in discussions, share my knowledge to inspire and also be inspired by spending 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening everyday to read blog posts of my followers blogs, engage with them and celebrate 1 blogger every week on my blog.
3. In December, upgrade to WordPress.com Premium with a custom designed layout and improve on my WordPress skills, coding and all! And have a loyal community of followers.
Let the games begin!
